2010 NORBERT COMMENDATION AWARD
for School Support to Military-Connected Students
At the JVEF Annual Meeting held on August 26, 2010, three schools were honored with
the 2010 Norbert Commendation Award. This award recognizes Hawaii Public Schools
for their quality assistance and support of military students.
This award represents a "stamp of excellence" for schools that are 'military-friendly'.
This year Mokulele ES, Solomon ES and Wheeler ES received this prestigious
award for outstanding attention to the needs of transitioning students and their families.
For the exceptional support of the military-connected community,
this award was named in honor of retired Leilehua HS Principal Norman Minehira
and retired Radford HS Principal Robert Stevens.

MOKULELE PRIDE DAY
IS EVERY WEDNESDAY
Thank you Mokulele Citizens for showing your Mokulele Pride!
Every Wednesday
Mokulele Citizens show their school pride
by wearing school t-shirts or school colors (blue and yellow).
With Mokulele Pride we transform our school campus to a sea of
blue and yellow when we report to school every Wednesday
proudly wearing our school t-shirts or school colors.
RED SHIRT DAY
At Mokulele Elementary School we show our patriotism and appreciation
by supporting Red Shirt Day because we love being Americans!
On the last day of each school week a sea of red will express our
appreciation for our U.S. troops who are protecting the U.S.A.
Thank you Mokulele Citizens for showing our military that we are
grateful for what they do so we can live the way we do.
Let's all honor Red Shirt Day with Mokulele Pride by wearing
our red shirts on the last day of each school week
until our troops all come home.
