Junior Police Officers (JPO)

The Junior Police Officers (JPO) program is under the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) Traffic Division. The JPO program has been active for 80 years and is the only student traffic assistance program in the nation. The Junior Police Officers provide traffic safety assistance at 120 Oahu schools during the school year.

The Mokulele Elementary School JPO program provides traffic safety assistance for students traveling to and from our school. Rain or shine these students report to JPO duty before school begins and after school dismissal to help all students safely cross the street. Daily raising and lowering of the flags is taken care of by our Junior Police Officers. Our Mokulele Citizens perform a civic responsibility by participating in our school's JPO program.

School Counselor Micheal Davidson is the JPO Advisor. With support from the HPD Officer, Mr. Davidson prepares the JPO platoons for the annual Junior Police Officers Field Day Competition with drill down practices.
